What attracts women? Most men have no idea what really causes attraction in women. Attraction isn’t something that happens logically. A woman cannot choose to be attracted to someone. She also can’t choose not to be attracted to someone. Much like with men, women intuitively decide whether they’re attracted to someone or not.
Unlike men however, looks are not the major factor. A man might look at a woman and see her face, her body, her figure, her hair or any number of other features and instantly decide if he’s attracted to her or not. A woman does the same thing – Except what she looks for isn’t physical attributes.
So what is it that attracts women?
It’s Not What You Think
There are three common strategies men try to employ when they’re trying to attract a woman.
The first is the money strategy. There’s a commonly held belief that money creates attraction. This simply isn’t true. In fact, attractive women who frequent high class bars will regularly be approached by wealthy men – And turn them down.
The second strategy is body. Men think that in order to be attractive, they need to have bodybuilder-like good looks. Again, this simply isn’t true. While looks can create some degree of attraction, by and large women are drawn to other factors.
The third strategy is the “friends first” strategy. Men try to draw a woman in by becoming friends, becoming her confidant in hopes that someday it will turn into something more. Unfortunately, this strategy tends to completely kill any sexual attraction.
Conventional wisdom offers terrible advice on what attracts women. So what is it, really?
What Women Are Attracted To: Characteristics
What women are actually drawn to are masculine characteristics. These characteristics bring out her feminine side. She feels like a woman when she’s around someone who exudes these attributes. What are they?
Dominance – Women like to be around men who can take charge. In their professional and personal lives, women like to be treated as equals. However, in a sexual interaction, women usually like to be led and dominated. Projecting dominance helps tap into this natural instinct.
Expertise – Women like to be around men who are good at what they do. It doesn’t matter what it is: You could be a leading nuclear physicist, or a great basketball player. You could be an expert in international banking or a lead guitarist. It’s not the actual skill that matters, women just want to be around winners.
Purposeful – Women like to be around men who have a mission. It’s part of a woman’s personality to want to be supportive. She wants to help you achieve whatever it is that you want to achieve in life.
Free Thinker – Women want to be around men who have their own opinions. Men who aren’t afraid to go against the grain. Men who can take a myriad of ideas and form their own conclusions. Women want to be around men who formulate their own identities, rather than try to blend into the masses.
Goes for What He Wants – Women want to be around men who aren’t afraid to take what they want. This applies to your career, but it also applies to how you treat a woman. One big factor in what attracts women is that they want to feel like you’ll be willing to fight for her. This might be the one thing that Hollywood did get right.
Developing and conveying these characteristics will get you much further with women than any one magic “line” or pickup tactic. If you can become the kind of man women want to be around and convey those characteristics quickly in a conversation, attracting women will suddenly become easy.
